Last Updated: June 12, 2025
1. Introduction and Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to the Tbilisi Hack Club (“the Club,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the participation of members (“Members,” “you,” “your child”) and their parents or legal guardians (“Parents,” “Guardians”) in all activities, events, and programs organized by the Club.
By completing the registration process and participating in Club activities, you, as the Parent or Guardian, confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms on behalf of yourself and your child. These Terms constitute a binding legal agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not register for or participate in Club activities.
2. Code of Conduct
To ensure a safe, respectful, and productive environment for everyone, all Members are expected to adhere to our Code of Conduct. The key principles are:
- Respect: Treat all members, mentors, and volunteers with respect and kindness. Harassment, bullying, discrimination, and disrespectful behavior are strictly prohibited.
- Collaboration: Foster a spirit of teamwork and mutual support. Share knowledge, help others, and be open to learning from everyone.
- Integrity: Use club resources, including equipment and internet access, responsibly and ethically. Do not engage in plagiarism, software piracy, or any illegal online activities.
- Safety: Follow all safety guidelines provided by mentors. Report any concerns, accidents, or unsafe conditions to a club mentor immediately.
A serious or repeated violation of the Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, up to and including suspension or termination of membership from the Club without a refund of any fees (if applicable).
3. Membership and Registration
- Eligibility: Membership is open to young people within the age range specified by the Club’s current program guidelines.
- Registration: A Parent or Legal Guardian must complete the official registration form for each Member. All information provided must be accurate and kept up-to-date.
- Fees: Membership is provided free of charge. However, specific workshops or events may occasionally have a fee to cover materials, which will be communicated clearly in advance.
4. Health, Safety, and Emergency Care
- Health Information: Parents must disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or special needs of the Member on the registration form so that our volunteer mentors can be properly prepared.
- Emergency Consent: In the event of a medical emergency, by accepting these Terms, you grant the Club’s volunteer staff permission to administer basic first aid and/or seek professional medical attention for your child if you cannot be reached. You agree to be responsible for any associated medical expenses.
5. Liability Waiver and Indemnification
While the Club prioritizes the safety and well-being of its Members, participation in any activity carries inherent risks.
- Assumption of Risk: You acknowledge and agree that your child’s participation in Club activities is voluntary and that you assume all risks of injury, loss, or damage to person or property that may occur.
- Waiver: To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of Georgia, you hereby waive and release the Tbilisi Hack Club, its founders, volunteer mentors, partners, and agents from any and all claims, liabilities, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by your child or to any property belonging to you, while participating in Club activities.
The Club often takes photographs, videos, and other recordings of activities and projects for promotional and archival purposes.
- Consent: By agreeing to these Terms, you grant the Tbilisi Hack Club permission to photograph, videotape, and record your child and their work during Club activities.
- Usage: You grant the Club the irrevocable right to use, reproduce, and publish these images and recordings on our website, social media channels, brochures, and other promotional materials without compensation. If you wish to opt-out of this clause, you must notify us in writing at tbilisihc@yahoo.com.
7. Intellectual Property
- Member Projects: Members retain full ownership of the intellectual property they create (e.g., code, designs, applications). We encourage open-source sharing, but the decision rests with the Member.
- Club Materials: All curriculum, tutorials, and materials provided by the Club are the property of the Tbilisi Hack Club or its licensors and are intended for personal, non-commercial use by Members only.
8. General Provisions
- Changes to Terms: We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes, and your child’s continued participation in the Club will constitute acceptance of the new Terms.
- Governing Law: These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Georgia.
